The Apple AirPods 5 are open-fit wireless earbuds, and this standard model now includes Active Noise Cancellation. Apple says it blocks up to 1.5 times more noise than AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation. The H2 headphone chip also runs Transparency mode, Adaptive Audio and Conversation Awareness, which lowers your media when you start speaking to someone.
A redesigned multiport acoustic architecture, a custom high-excursion driver and next-generation Adaptive EQ shape the sound, and Personalised Spatial Audio adds dynamic head tracking. Voice Isolation and dual beamforming microphones keep calls clear. With a compatible iPhone, Live Translation and hands-free Siri AI work through the earbuds in the languages and regions where Apple offers them.
Apple rates up to 4 hours of listening with noise cancelling on, or 6 hours with it off, and up to 20 hours with the case. The case charges over USB-C only and has no speaker, and volume swipe on the stem is limited to the Wireless Charging Case model. These open-fit earbuds have no silicone tips, so they block less noise than sealed designs. They are rated IP57, and no cable comes in the box.
Charge the case with a USB-C cable and power adapter (neither is in the box). To pair with an iPhone, turn on Bluetooth, open the case next to the unlocked iPhone and tap Connect when the setup card appears; they then work with your other Apple devices signed in to the same Apple Account. On an Android phone or Windows laptop, open the case with both earbuds inside, double-tap the front of the case until the status light flashes white, then choose AirPods in that device's Bluetooth settings.
AirPods 5, Charging Case (USB-C) and documentation. The USB-C charge cable and power adapter are not included.
