The Redmi Pad SE 4G in Urban Grey puts an 8.7-inch (22.09 cm) LCD in a body that is 8.8 mm thick and weighs 375 g, small enough to hold in one hand. The screen refreshes at up to 90Hz, reaches 500 nits typical and 600 nits in outdoor mode, shows 10-bit colour and is TUV Rheinland Low Blue Light and Flicker Free certified.

It takes two SIM cards and a microSD card at the same time and supports 4G voice calls as well as mobile data, so it keeps working away from Wi-Fi. Two speakers with Dolby Atmos support, a 3.5mm headphone jack, an IR blaster for TVs and air conditioners, and GPS are built in. Xiaomi rates it IP53 against dust and splashes.

Inside is the MediaTek Helio G85 with 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB of eMMC 5.1 storage, expandable with a microSD card of up to 2TB. The 6650mAh battery charges at 10W, which is slow for a battery this size, and the cameras are basic: 8MP on the back and 5MP on the front. The screen resolution is 1340 x 800, and it launched with Xiaomi HyperOS on Android 14.

Use the SIM card eject tool from the box to open the tray and fit up to two SIM cards and a microSD card. Charge with the adapter and USB Type-C cable from the box, switch the tablet on, sign in with your Google account and set up AI face unlock.
