The Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G in Secret Sunrise has a photochromic fiberglass back that turns pink-orange in sunlight. It is built around a 10000mAh silicon-carbon battery, which Xiaomi rates at more than 4 days of light use. The 100W charger in the box fills it in about 70 minutes, and 27W wired reverse charging can charge earbuds or a phone. Xiaomi says it keeps 80% of its capacity after 1600 cycles.
The 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display refreshes at up to 120Hz, reaches 3500 nits peak brightness and supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision under Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. It is rated IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K. On the back is a 50MP main camera with OIS and an f/1.5 lens next to an 8MP ultra-wide, and the 32MP front camera also records 4K video.
Inside is the 4nm Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 with 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage. It runs Xiaomi HyperOS 3 on Android 16 with 4 years of OS and 6 years of security updates. There is no headphone jack or listed memory card slot, and at 229 g it is heavier than most phones of its size.
Use the SIM eject tool from the box to open the tray and fit up to two nano SIM cards. Charge with the 100W adapter and USB Type-C cable from the box, switch the phone on and register your fingerprint on the in-display sensor during setup.
