The Redmi A3 4G in Midnight Black is a dual SIM 4G phone from Xiaomi India, launched in February 2024 and made in India. The Midnight Black version has a glass back with the round Halo camera ring, is 8.32 mm thick and weighs 199 g. The display sits under Corning Gorilla Glass 3, and the body resists accidental splashes of water.
The 6.71-inch HD+ display runs at up to 90Hz with 180Hz touch sampling and reaches 500 nits at peak. On the back, the 8MP AI dual camera offers film filters, portrait mode with depth control and voice shutter, and the 5MP front camera uses the screen as a flash. The fingerprint sensor sits in the side frame, and there is a 3.5mm headphone jack and FM radio.
Inside is the MediaTek Helio G36 octa-core chip at up to 2.2GHz with 6GB of RAM, plus up to 6GB of virtual RAM, and 128GB of storage with a dedicated microSD slot for cards up to 1TB. It runs Android 14, and the 5000mAh battery charges with the 10W charger in the box. Keep in mind that there is no 5G, 10W charging is slow and the speaker is mono.
Use the SIM eject tool from the box to open the tray. It holds two nano-SIMs and a microSD card at the same time. Charge with the 10W adapter and USB Type-C cable from the box, switch the phone on and register your fingerprint on the side sensor during setup.
