The Xiaomi Redmi 15A 5G smartphone in Amaze Purple is a dual 5G phone with a 6.9-inch HD+ display that runs at up to 120Hz and reaches 800 nits at peak. It weighs 210 g and is 8.15 mm thick, with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and IP52 protection against dust and splashes. This listing is the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage version, and a microSD card of up to 2TB can be added.
Inside is the Unisoc T8300 5G chip, built on a 6nm process, with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. The 6300mAh battery charges at 15W with the charger in the box. The rear has a 32MP main camera and the front has an 8MP camera. It launched with Android 16 and HyperOS 3, and Xiaomi promises 4 years of Android updates and 6 years of security updates.
The screen is HD+ rather than Full HD, and charging tops out at 15W. There is no NFC, so tap-to-pay with the phone is not possible. IP52 covers light splashes, not rain or a dip in water. The proximity and light sensing are software based, and only a single microphone is listed.
Use the SIM eject tool from the box to open the tray and fit one or two Nano-SIM cards, and a microSD card if you want more storage. Charge with the 15W charger and USB Type-C cable supplied. Switch the phone on and follow the on-screen steps to sign in and copy your apps and data from your old phone.
