Sony WH-CH520 Wireless On-Ear Headphones with Mic - Blue

The Sony WH-CH520 wireless headphones sit on the ear rather than over it, with swivel ear cups, an adjustable headband and soft ear pads, and weigh about 147 g. The 30 mm drivers play SBC and AAC over Bluetooth 5.2, and DSEE restores high-frequency detail lost in compressed music files. In the Sony Sound Connect app you can shape the sound with the equaliser.

Multipoint keeps two Bluetooth devices connected at the same time, such as a phone and a laptop, and the headphones switch to the one that rings. A microphone on the right ear cup handles hands-free calls, and a double press of the play/call button brings up the Google app on Android or Siri on iPhone. Buttons on the right ear cup control power, playback, calls and volume, and Windows PCs pair quickly with Swift Pair.

Sony rates the battery at up to 50 hours of music with AAC (45 hours with SBC) and up to 40 hours of talk time. A full charge over USB-C takes about 3 hours, and 3 minutes of charging gives about 1.5 hours of music. There is no active noise cancelling or Ambient Sound mode, no 3.5 mm headphone socket, no LDAC and no water resistance rating, and the box has no power adapter or carrying case.

Charge the headphones before first use with the supplied USB Type-C cable and your own USB charger; a full charge takes about 3 hours. Hold the power button for about 2 seconds to switch them on. The first time, they go into pairing mode, so choose WH-CH520 in your phone's Bluetooth list; Windows 10 or 11 PCs with Swift Pair show a pop-up instead. To pair another device later, hold the power button for about 5 seconds with the headphones off. Install the Sony Sound Connect app to update the software and set the equaliser, DSEE and multipoint.

Sony WH-CH520 headphones, USB Type-C cable (USB-A to USB-C, about 20 cm) and reference guide. No power adapter, headphone cable or carrying case is included.
