The Sennheiser Momentum 5 Wireless are over-ear Bluetooth noise cancelling headphones built around the 42 mm dynamic driver Sennheiser makes in Ireland, inspired by its HD 600 series. Hybrid adaptive noise cancellation now uses eight digital microphones, and Sennheiser rates it up to three times more effective than the Momentum 4 Wireless in the midrange, where voices sit. Transparency Mode lets outside sound back in, and the Smart Control Plus app adds an 8-band EQ, presets and Sound Personalization.

Battery life is rated at up to 57 hours with ANC on, and a 10-minute USB-C charge gives up to 7 hours. The 700 mAh battery is user replaceable with a small Phillips screwdriver. Bluetooth 5.4 supports SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive and aptX Lossless, and the headphones stay connected to two devices at once. Dolby Atmos with head tracking arrives through a firmware update, and four call microphones with Own Voice Detection keep your voice clear. Wear detection pauses the music when you take them off.

There is no water or sweat resistance rating, so keep them away from rain and workouts. Lossless and Atmos playback depend on your phone and music service, and iPhones use AAC. The headphones do not switch on by themselves after auto power off; press the button. No charger comes in the box. For wired listening, the supplied cable has a 2.5 mm plug for the headphones and a 3.5 mm plug for your device, and USB-C carries digital audio.

Charge the headphones with the supplied USB-C cable before first use; a full charge takes about 2 hours. Press the button once to switch them on, and they go into pairing mode the first time, so pick them from your phone's Bluetooth menu, or install the Sennheiser Smart Control Plus app to pair, update the firmware and set the EQ. To add a second device, hold the button for 5 seconds. Use the touch pad on the ear cup for music, calls, noise cancelling and Transparency Mode. Charge from a standard 5 V USB port or adapter; Sennheiser advises against chargers that also output 9 V or more.

Sennheiser gives the first owner a one-year warranty from the date on the invoice when this product is bought new from an authorised Sennheiser dealer in India. A defect in materials or workmanship in that year is repaired, or the product or faulty part replaced, free of charge at Sennheiser's choice. To claim, contact Sennheiser India customer support or visit a Sennheiser service centre with the original invoice, as every claim needs it. Cables and other accessories in the box, the ear pads and the rechargeable battery, normal wear and tear, damage from misuse or accidents, and products opened or repaired by anyone other than an authorised service partner are not covered.
