Sennheiser CX 80U USB-C Wired In-Ear Earphones with Mic - Black

The Sennheiser CX 80U are USB-C wired in-ear earphones with a mic, the USB-C follow-up to the long-running CX 80S. They plug straight into a phone, tablet, laptop or handheld game console with no pairing, app or charging, and the digital connection supports 24-bit, 96 kHz playback. 9.7 mm dynamic drivers are tuned for balanced sound with clear highs, natural mids and controlled bass.

The pair weighs about 14.3 g and comes with silicone ear tips in three sizes, with the medium tips fitted, so you can find a seal that keeps outside noise down. A one-button remote on the 1.2 m cable controls music playback and answers calls, and its MEMS microphone picks up your voice. Sennheiser lists class compliant, plug and play support for Android, iOS, iPadOS, macOS, Windows, ChromeOS and SteamOS.

The plug is USB-C only and there is no 3.5 mm adapter in the box, so your device needs a USB-C port that carries audio; iPhones with a Lightning port will not fit. The remote has one button and no volume keys, so you set the volume on your device. There is no active noise cancelling, and Sennheiser gives no water or sweat resistance rating.

Pick the ear tip size that seals comfortably; the medium tips come fitted and the small and large ones are in the box. To change a tip, pull it off the earbud and press the new one on until it sits firmly. Plug the USB-C connector into your phone, tablet or laptop and the earphones work straight away, with nothing to pair, install or charge. Set the volume on your device, and use the remote button for music playback and calls. If there is no sound, unplug the earphones, push the plug back in fully and check that your device sends audio over USB-C.

Sennheiser gives the first owner a one-year warranty from the date on the invoice when this product is bought new from an authorised Sennheiser dealer in India. A defect in materials or workmanship in that year is repaired, or the product or faulty part replaced, free of charge at Sennheiser's choice. To claim, contact Sennheiser India customer support or visit a Sennheiser service centre with the original invoice, as every claim needs it. The ear tips in the box, normal wear and tear, damage from misuse or accidents, and products opened or repaired by anyone other than an authorised service partner are not covered.
