The BTD 600 takes the computer's own Bluetooth out of the picture. Plug it into a USB-A port, or into USB-C with the adapter that comes in the box, and the computer sees it as a USB sound card with nothing to install. The first time, it goes straight into pairing mode and looks for your headphones. After that it remembers them, so you can move the dongle to another PC or Mac and keep listening without pairing again. Sennheiser launched it in 2022 and brought it to India in October 2024.
It runs Bluetooth 5.2 and supports the SBC, aptX and aptX Adaptive codecs. Headphones that support aptX Adaptive, such as Sennheiser's Momentum 4 Wireless and Accentum Plus, get better sound quality plus aptX Low Latency, which keeps speech in sync with the picture in videos. Other Bluetooth headphones still work over SBC. Two small LEDs show the codec in use, dim white for SBC and pink for aptX, and a short press of the button during playback switches between them. Sennheiser says the music and call controls on your headphones keep working through the dongle.
For work calls it also knows about Microsoft Teams. A short press of its button mutes your microphone and turns the LEDs red, and the LEDs glow purple while Teams is running and flash purple for new Teams notifications. Range is up to 10 m with a clear line of sight. It stores one pair of headphones, so pairing a new pair replaces the old one. Sennheiser makes it for PCs and Macs on Windows 8.1 or later and macOS 11 or later, and says it cannot be used with a TV or hi-fi system. Firmware updates come through Sennheiser's free Transmitter Updater program, and the BTD 600 carries a one-year Sennheiser warranty in India.
Plug the dongle into a USB-A port on your PC or Mac, or fit the USB-C adapter and use a USB-C port. No driver is needed. Put your headphones into pairing mode. On first use the dongle starts pairing by itself and its LEDs flash red and white; if they don't, hold its button for 3 seconds. The LEDs flash white three times once the headphones are paired, and next time the dongle reconnects to them on its own. To pair a different pair of headphones, hold the button for 3 seconds again. To reset the dongle, hold the button for 10 seconds until the LEDs flash pink three times.
BTD 600 USB-A Bluetooth dongle, USB-A to USB-C adapter, quick guide, safety guide and compliance sheet. Headphones are sold separately.
