SanDisk Cruzer Blade 64GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive

The SanDisk Cruzer Blade 64GB USB flash drive, often called a pen drive, is a small and simple way to carry files between computers. Plug it into a USB Type-A port and it shows up as a removable drive, so you can back up photos, music, films and work documents by dragging and dropping them.

The capless body is black with a red end and measures about 41.5 x 17.6 x 7.4 mm, small enough for a pocket, and the hole in the red end takes a key ring or lanyard. SanDisk includes password protection with 128-bit AES encryption, which it lists for Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 and Mac OS X 10.9 or later, with a software download needed on a Mac. The drive is rated to work between 0 and 45 degrees C.

This is a USB 2.0 drive, so it is slower than USB 3.0 drives when copying large video files, and it needs an adapter to plug into a USB Type-C phone or laptop. There is no cap, so the connector stays exposed in a pocket. SanDisk counts 1GB as 1 billion bytes, so the usable space is a little less than 64GB.

Plug the Cruzer Blade into a USB Type-A port on your computer. It appears as a removable drive, so you can drag and drop files onto it. To lock files with a password, use SanDisk's password-protection software; Mac users need to download it from SanDisk. Eject the drive before you unplug it.
