The Samsung Galaxy M17e 5G in Vibe Violet is 8.2 mm thin and weighs 199 g. Its 6.7-inch HD+ PLS LCD shows 720 x 1600 pixels at up to 120Hz. Inside is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It supports 12 5G bands, and the body is rated IP54 against dust and water splashes.
The back has a 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 lens and autofocus, paired with a 2MP depth camera for portraits, and the front has an 8MP camera. The rear camera records Full HD video at 30fps. It launched with Android 16 and One UI 8, and Samsung India promises 6 generations of OS upgrades with security updates until 31 January 2032. There is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The 6000mAh battery supports 25W fast charging over USB Type-C, but only a USB Type-C cable is in the box, so the charger is bought separately. The main camera has no OIS, there is no NFC, and the speaker is single rather than stereo. IP54 covers splashes, not the pool, and the microSD slot is hybrid, so a memory card takes the place of the second SIM.
Use the ejection pin from the box to open the SIM tray. Fit one nano-SIM, plus either a second nano-SIM or a microSD card in the hybrid slot. Charge with the USB Type-C cable from the box and a USB Type-C charger, as no charger is included. Switch the phone on and use Samsung Smart Switch during setup to copy apps, photos and contacts from your old phone.

Samsung India covers the phone for 12 months and the accessories in the box for 6 months from the date of purchase, for manufacturing defects. Keep your invoice, as Samsung asks for it at its authorised service centres.
