The Samsung Galaxy M17 5G smartphone in Sapphire Black has a dark navy back with a silver-coloured frame, and it is 7.5 mm thick and weighs 192 g. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus covers the screen, and the phone is rated IP54 for dust and splashes.

The 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display runs at up to 90Hz and reaches 1100 nits in high brightness mode. Samsung's Exynos 1330 works with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. On the back are a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 5MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro, and the front camera is 13MP. It launched with One UI 7 on Android 15, and Samsung plans 6 generations of OS upgrades and 6 years of security updates.

There is no charger in the box, only a USB Type-C to C cable, so you need a 25W USB-C adapter for full charging speed. 4GB is the smallest RAM option, so heavy games and many open apps run better with more memory. Video tops out at 1080p 30fps, there is no headphone jack or stereo speaker, and a microSD card takes the place of the second SIM. IP54 covers splashes only, not swimming or pool use.

Use the ejection pin from the box to open the SIM tray; the Galaxy M17 5G takes two Nano-SIMs, or one Nano-SIM and a microSD card of up to 2TB. Samsung does not include a charger, so pair the USB Type-C to C cable with a USB-C adapter; the phone supports 25W wired charging. Switch it on and follow the on-screen steps to sign in and copy your apps and data from your old phone.

Samsung India covers the phone for 12 months, and in-box accessories such as the data cable for 6 months, from the date of purchase. Repairs are done at Samsung authorised service centres, and the purchase invoice is needed to claim.
