The Samsung Galaxy A23 4G in Light Blue uses Samsung's Ambient Edge design, where the camera housing blends into the back panel. It is 8.4 mm thick and weighs 195 g. The 6.6-inch FHD+ PLS LCD screen (1080 x 2408) has a V-cut notch for the 8MP front camera and runs at up to 90Hz, so scrolling looks smoother than on a 60Hz panel.
The back has four cameras: a 50MP main camera with autofocus and optical image stabilisation, a 5MP ultra wide with a 123-degree view, a 2MP macro and a 2MP depth camera for portrait blur. Video records at Full HD 30fps. The fingerprint sensor sits in the power key, and Samsung Knox protects the data on the phone.
Inside is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 octa-core chip with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and the microSD slot takes cards of up to 1TB without giving up a SIM. The 5000mAh battery supports 25W Super Fast Charging, but the 25W charger is sold separately. This is a 4G phone from March 2022: it has no 5G, no NFC, a single loudspeaker and no listed water resistance rating, and video stops at Full HD.
Use the ejection pin from the box to open the SIM tray and fit one or two nano-SIM cards and, if you like, a microSD card in its own slot. Charge with the adapter and cable from the box. Switch the phone on and use Samsung Smart Switch during setup to copy apps, photos and contacts from your old phone.
Galaxy A23 4G, travel adapter, USB Type-A to Type-C data cable, ejection pin and quick start guide.
Samsung India covers the phone and battery for 12 months and the accessories in the box for 6 months from the date of purchase, for manufacturing defects. Keep your invoice, as Samsung asks for it at its authorised service centres.
