The Samsung Galaxy A17 5G in Black is 7.5 mm thin and weighs 192 g, with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus on the front and an IP54 rating for splashes. Its 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED screen runs at up to 90Hz. Inside is the 5nm Exynos 1330 with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and a microSD card of up to 2TB can go in the second SIM slot.
The back has a 50MP main camera with autofocus and OIS, a 5MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro, and video records in Full HD at 30fps. The front camera is 13MP. It launched with Android 15 and One UI 7, and Samsung India promises 6 generations of OS upgrades with security updates until 31 August 2031. Gemini Live and Circle to Search are built in.
The 5000mAh battery is rated for up to 18 hours of video playback, and there is no charger in the box. The memory card shares the second SIM slot, so you can use two SIMs or a SIM and a card, not both. It has a single speaker, Wi-Fi 5 and no headphone jack, and IP54 covers splashes only, not swimming.
Use a SIM ejection pin to open the tray. Fit your Nano-SIM, and in the second slot either another Nano-SIM or a microSD card. Charge with a USB Type-C cable and a compatible charger, as none is in the box. Switch the phone on and use Samsung Smart Switch during setup to copy apps, photos and contacts from your old phone.
Galaxy A17 5G and a USB Type-C cable. No charger is included.
Samsung India covers the phone for 12 months and the accessories in the box for 6 months from the date of purchase, for manufacturing defects. Keep your invoice, as Samsung asks for it at its authorised service centres.
