The Nokia 235 4G keypad phone in Purple is the 2024 model made by HMD, built around calls, texts and a battery that lasts for days. It has a 2.8-inch QVGA screen above a full numeric keypad, and the back carries a 2MP camera with an LED flash that also works as a torch.
It takes two Nano-SIM cards and supports 4G VoLTE calls on Jio and other 4G networks. The built-in UPI app supports scan and pay for paying at QR codes and sending money, and the Cloud Apps portal brings YouTube, news, weather and games. For music there is an MP3 player, FM radio that plays with or without wired earphones, a 3.5mm jack and Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless earbuds. Snake comes built in.
The 2MP camera suits quick snaps and QR codes rather than detailed photos, and there is no front camera. Storage is 128MB, so music, photos and videos need a microSD card (up to 32GB, sold separately), and HMD lists no app store or WhatsApp. Cloud Apps run online and use mobile data. It charges over USB Type-C, and HMD rates talk time at up to 9.8 hours on dual SIM 4G.
