The Motorola Moto G96 5G in Pantone Greener Pastures has a vegan leather back, a body 7.93 mm thick and a weight of 178 g. The 6.67-inch pOLED screen curves at the sides, shows 2400 x 1080 pixels at up to 144Hz with 10-bit colour and reaches up to 1600 nits, under Corning Gorilla Glass 5, and the phone is rated IP68 against water and dust.
The back has a 50MP Sony LYTIA 700C main camera with f/1.8, Quad PDAF and optical image stabilisation, next to an 8MP ultra wide that also takes macro shots. Both rear cameras record 4K video at 30fps, and so does the 32MP front camera. Night Vision, Portrait and Pro mode with long exposure are in the camera app.
Inside is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 (4nm) with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The 5500mAh battery charges at 33W with TurboPower, and Motorola India lists a 33W charger in the box. Stereo speakers support Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio. Worth knowing: there is no memory card slot, headphone jack, FM radio or NFC, and Motorola India lists 1 Android upgrade and 3 years of security updates.
Use the SIM tool from the box to open the tray and fit one or two Nano-SIM cards. Charge with the 33W charger and USB cable supplied. Switch the phone on, register your fingerprint on the in-display sensor and follow the on-screen steps to sign in and copy your apps and data from your old phone.
