The Marshall Motif II A.N.C. in Black are true wireless noise cancelling earbuds with a 6 mm dynamic driver in each bud, tuned to the Marshall signature sound across 20 Hz to 20 kHz. They keep the textured stems, brass-coloured tips and script M logo of Marshall's earbud range, and silicone ear tips come in three sizes for a sealed fit.
Four microphones measure the noise around you and adjust the active noise cancelling, which quietens train rides and busy streets. Transparency mode lets outside sound back in for a quick chat. Marshall rates 6 hours of playtime per charge with ANC on and 30 hours in total with the case, or 9 and 43 hours with it off. Fifteen minutes in the case adds about an hour, and the case charges over USB Type-C or on a wireless pad. Bluetooth 5.3 stays connected to two devices at once.
The free Marshall Bluetooth app sets the noise control levels, equaliser and touch controls and installs updates, though the earbuds work without it. The earbuds are rated IPX5 and the case IPX4. Codec support is SBC and AAC only, with no LDAC or aptX, and noise cancelling works best with the ear tip size that seals well.
Open the charging case with the earbuds inside, then press and hold the button on the case until the light pulses slowly in blue. Select MOTIF II A.N.C. in your phone's Bluetooth list. To add a second device, put the earbuds back in the case, keep the lid open and repeat the same steps; the earbuds stay connected to two devices at a time and remember the last eight. Try the three ear tip sizes to find the one that seals best, because the noise cancelling depends on the fit. Install the Marshall Bluetooth app on your Android phone or iPhone to adjust noise cancelling and Transparency, set the equaliser, change the touch controls and update the firmware. Charge the case with the included USB-C cable or on a wireless charging pad.
