The Marshall Middleton II is a portable Bluetooth speaker in Black and Brass that measures 230 x 98 x 110 mm and weighs 1.8 kg. A detachable carry strap fastens to a hinge on one end, and the silicone sleeve comes off for cleaning. It is rated IP67, so it is dust tight and survives 30 minutes in 1 m of water.
Two 3-inch woofers on 30W Class D amplifiers, two 0.6-inch tweeters on 10W amplifiers and two passive radiators play True Stereophonic sound in every direction. The top panel has a power button, a control knob for playback, volume and calls, and separate bass and treble controls. The battery lasts 30+ hours and a full USB-C charge takes 3 hours.
Bluetooth 5.3 keeps two phones connected at once, a 3.5 mm AUX input takes a wired source, and the USB-C port can also charge a phone. The built-in microphone turns it into a speakerphone. It cannot use the Stack Mode of the first Middleton, Emberton II and Willen, but it can join an Auracast broadcast from Marshall's Heddon hub. At 1.8 kg it is a heavy carry for its size, and there is no aptX or LDAC.
