- Three Class D amplifiers, 1 x 60W for the 4-inch woofer and 2 x 25W for the two 0.75-inch tweeters, for 110W in total.
- Improved tweeters and waveguides widen the stereo sound; the bass-reflex cabinet with a redesigned, downward-facing bass port is rated 37 Hz to 38 kHz and up to 95 dB at 1 m.
- Bluetooth 5.3 with SBC, AAC, LDAC and LC3 codecs, a range of up to 10 m (32.8 ft), and two phones or tablets connected at the same time.
- Built-in Auracast: the speaker joins a broadcast from Marshall's Heddon hub (sold separately) or a compatible phone to play in sync with other speakers.
- Two wired inputs: a 3.5 mm AUX socket on the top panel and, new on the Acton, stereo RCA inputs underneath for a CD player or a turntable with a phono preamp.
- Volume, bass and treble knobs, a media control, a Source button and a customisable M-button for Spotify Tap or EQ presets; the Marshall app adds a five-band EQ and placement compensation.
The Marshall Acton IV is the smaller of the two Bluetooth home speakers in Marshall's fourth-generation home range, announced in July 2026 with the Stanmore IV. It is 260 mm wide, weighs 2.65 kg and suits a shelf, desk or sideboard. The Black cabinet is FSC-certified MDF with a vegan leather-like covering, a woven grille, the Marshall script logo and a brass top plate with analogue knobs.
A 60W amplifier drives the 4-inch woofer and two 25W amplifiers drive the 0.75-inch tweeters behind improved waveguides for a wider stereo spread. The redesigned bass port faces down, so it can sit close to a wall, and the bass-reflex cabinet covers 37 Hz to 38 kHz at up to 95 dB. Bluetooth 5.3 supports SBC, AAC, LDAC and LC3, keeps two phones connected and can join Auracast multi-speaker playback.
The 3.5 mm AUX socket sits on the top panel and the new RCA input underneath takes a CD player or a turntable with a phono preamp. The M-button starts Spotify Tap or switches EQ presets, and the Marshall app adds a five-band EQ and placement compensation. There is no battery, Wi-Fi, microphone or voice assistant, so it stays plugged in, and reviewers found it a little harsh near full volume.
Connect the mains lead to the power input on the bottom of the speaker and to a wall socket, then pull the power switch on the top panel to turn it on. Press the Source button to select Bluetooth, push and hold it for 2 seconds until the Bluetooth light pulses slowly, and pick ACTON IV in your phone's Bluetooth list. The Marshall app is optional and adds EQ, placement compensation and software updates.
Marshall Acton IV Bluetooth speaker, mains lead, quick start guide and legal and safety information. Audio leads (3.5 mm or RCA) are not included.
