- Three Class D amplifiers, 1 x 30W for the woofer and 2 x 15W for the tweeters, for 60W in total.
- Outward-angled tweeters with updated waveguides widen the stereo sound; the bass-reflex cabinet is rated 45 Hz to 20 kHz and up to 95 dB at 1 m.
- Bluetooth 5.2, ready for Bluetooth LE Audio, with a range of up to 10 m (30 ft), and two phones or tablets can stay connected at the same time.
- 3.5 mm AUX input on the top panel for wired playback from a laptop, TV or music player.
- Analogue volume, bass and treble knobs, a Source button, a power switch and a media control that plays, pauses and skips tracks.
- Dynamic Loudness adjusts the tonal balance at every volume, and the Marshall Bluetooth app adds EQ, placement correction and over-the-air updates.
The Marshall Acton III is the most compact Bluetooth home speaker in Marshall's third-generation home range, sized for a shelf, desk or bedside table. It is 260 mm wide, weighs 2.85 kg and runs from the mains. The Brown cabinet has a vegan leather-like covering, a woven grille, the Marshall script logo and brass knobs.
Inside, a 30W amplifier drives the woofer and two 15W amplifiers drive tweeters that point outwards through updated waveguides, so the stereo sound spreads wider than on the Acton II. The bass-reflex cabinet covers 45 Hz to 20 kHz and reaches 95 dB at 1 m. Dynamic Loudness adjusts the tonal balance as you change the volume. Bluetooth 5.2 reaches up to 10 m, two phones can stay connected at once, and the 3.5 mm AUX input takes a laptop, TV or music player.
There is no battery, so the speaker stays plugged in, and it has no microphone or Wi-Fi, and no RCA or HDMI input. It cannot be paired with a second speaker in the app, unlike the Acton II. The Marshall Bluetooth app for Android and iOS adds EQ, a placement setting and software updates, though some owners find it limited.
