The JBL Xtreme 5 portable Bluetooth speaker pairs a 98 x 145 mm woofer with two 20 mm tweeters for 130W on mains power and 90W on battery. AI Sound Boost keeps the bass clean as the volume rises, Smart EQ Mode retunes the sound for music or podcasts, and the edge lighting moves with the beat.
It is rated IP68 against water and dust and built to survive drops. The 68 Wh battery runs up to 24 hours, or 28 with Playtime Boost, and recharges in about 3.5 hours. Bluetooth 6.0 with Auracast pairs two Auracast JBL speakers in stereo or links several together, the JBL Portable app adds a 7-band EQ, and the USB-C port plays lossless audio from a computer and charges your phone.
At 2.9 kg it weighs about 800 g more than the Xtreme 4, so the shoulder strap earns its place. There is no AUX input or Wi-Fi, and the USB-C cable for lossless playback or phone charging is not in the box. The full 130W needs the adaptor plugged in, and the battery, held in by two screws in the base, should be swapped only when it is faulty.
Charge the Xtreme 5 with the included PD adaptor before first use; a full charge takes about 3.5 hours. Switch it on and pair your phone from the phone's Bluetooth menu, where it shows as JBL Xtreme 5. Download the JBL Portable app for the 7-band EQ, light themes and software updates, and use Auracast to link other Auracast JBL speakers. For lossless audio, connect a computer to the USB-C port with your own USB-C cable and hold the play button.

Harman India gives JBL products bought from an authorised Harman dealer in India a one-year limited warranty from the date on the invoice. Defective parts are repaired or replaced free of charge at an authorised Harman service centre; Harman does not give refunds on warranty claims. Log a request with JBL India customer support first, and keep the original invoice, as every claim needs it. Physical or accidental damage, batteries and buttons that wear with use, accessories such as charging cables and power adapters, and repairs by anyone other than an authorised service centre are not covered.
