The JBL PartyBox Encore Essential 2 is a compact Bluetooth party speaker for house parties, terraces and karaoke at home. A 5.25-inch woofer and two silk dome tweeters deliver 100W RMS, and AI Sound Boost keeps the sound clean as you turn it up. Bass Boost has two levels, and the front light ring runs six patterns, with strobe and starry effects on a long press.
There is no microphone in the box. Instead, one socket on the back takes a wired mic or an electric guitar, picked with a switch, and has its own gain and volume knobs. Bluetooth 5.4 keeps two phones connected at once, Auracast pairs two Encore Essential 2 speakers in stereo, and the USB-C port plays music from a USB drive and records your mic or guitar to it.
The replaceable 34 Wh battery lasts up to 15 hours and charges in under 3.5 hours from the supplied AC cord, and the speaker also runs on mains power. With one woofer, the bass is punchy rather than deep, and tone settings beyond Bass Boost sit in the JBL PartyBox app. IPX4 covers splashes, not rain. For a wireless mic in the box, look at the Encore 2.
