The JBL PartyBox 520 is a portable Bluetooth party speaker for terraces, lawns and house parties. Two 7.5-inch woofers and two 1-inch tweeters deliver 400W RMS from 40 Hz to 20 kHz, and AI Sound Boost tunes the output in real time to keep distortion down at high volume. A lightshow with strobe and starry effects runs across the front grille.
The replaceable JBL Battery 600 gives up to 15 hours of play, and a 10-minute charge adds about 2 hours. At the back, two combo jacks take XLR or 6.35 mm plugs for a microphone, guitar or DJ mixer, next to a 3.5 mm AUX input and a USB-C port for audio, USB drives and charging your phone. It connects over Bluetooth 5.4, and Auracast pairs two 520s in stereo or links other Auracast-enabled JBL speakers. The JBL PartyBox app controls playback, EQ and the lightshow.
At 25.5 kg it rolls on wheels with a telescopic handle, but lifting it into a car takes two people. No microphone comes in the box. It is IPX4 splash resistant, so spills are fine but a pool is not. Owners praise its volume and deep bass, and the most common complaint is the weight.
