The JBL Grip is a portable Bluetooth speaker shaped like a tall drinks can, 152.5 mm high and 385 g, so it sits easily in one hand. A single 43 x 80 mm full-range driver puts out 16W RMS, and AI Sound Boost adjusts the output in real time to hold back distortion as the volume goes up.
A light strip on the back glows in several themes, changed with the button below it, and the JBL Portable app sets its colour and brightness and adds a 7-band EQ. The body is rated IP68, so it is dust tight and can stay 1.5 m under water for 30 minutes, and JBL says it survives a 1 m drop onto concrete. A rope loop on the back lets you hang it from a bag.
The battery gives up to 12 hours, plus 2 more with Playtime Boost, and recharges in about 3 hours from a 5V, 3A USB-C charger. Two Grips pair in stereo over Auracast, and more Auracast-enabled JBL speakers can join. There is no microphone or AUX input, one Grip plays in mono, the sound thins out near full volume, and no USB-C cable or charger is included.
