JBL Go 5 Portable Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker - Red

The JBL Go 5 portable Bluetooth speaker measures 10.1 x 7.7 x 4.3 cm and weighs 230 g, with a fixed carry loop for a bag strap or a finger. A single 45 mm driver gives 4.8W RMS down to 87 Hz, and JBL tunes it for deeper bass than the Go 4. Edge lighting glows along the front and shows power, pairing and battery cues.

It is rated IP68 and drop-proof, so rain, sand and a dip in the pool are fine. The 3.85Wh battery runs for up to 8 hours, plus about 2 more with Playtime Boost. Bluetooth 6.0 adds Auracast for linking other JBL Auracast speakers, and tapping two Go 5 speakers together pairs them in stereo through AirTouch. The JBL Portable app offers a 7-band EQ and light themes.

A single Go 5 is a mono speaker for a desk, a tent or a small group, so it will not fill a large room or deliver deep sub-bass. JBL lists no microphone or speakerphone, so calls stay on your phone. A full charge takes about 3 hours, and the box has no USB-C cable, so you need your own cable and a 5V adapter.

Charge the Go 5 before first use with a USB-C cable and a 5V 1A adapter, both sold separately; a full charge takes about 3 hours. Press the power button on the side, press the Bluetooth button, then select the speaker in your phone's Bluetooth menu. Use the play and volume buttons on top, and install the JBL Portable app for the EQ, light themes and updates. To pair two Go 5 speakers in stereo, tap them together.

Harman India gives JBL products bought from an authorised Harman dealer in India a one-year limited warranty from the date on the invoice. Defective parts are repaired or replaced free of charge at an authorised Harman service centre; Harman does not give refunds on warranty claims. Log a request with JBL India customer support first, and keep the original invoice, as every claim needs it. Physical or accidental damage, batteries and buttons that wear with use, accessories such as charging cables and power adapters, and repairs by anyone other than an authorised service centre are not covered.
