The JBL Go 4 is a portable Bluetooth speaker that measures 94 x 76 x 42 mm and weighs 190 g. A single 45 mm driver produces 4.2W of output with a 90 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response, and JBL tuned it for punchier bass than the Go 3. The redesigned loop is wider and sturdier, so it is easy to grab or hang from a backpack.
The IP67 rating means it is sealed against dust and can stay in water up to 1 m deep for 30 minutes. The battery lasts up to 7 hours, and Playtime Boost adds up to 2 more. Bluetooth 5.3 with LE Audio keeps two phones or tablets connected at once, and Auracast pairs two Go 4 speakers in stereo or links several Auracast-enabled JBL speakers.
There is no microphone, so the Go 4 cannot take calls or talk to a voice assistant, and there is no AUX input. With one driver it plays in mono, and its small size limits deep bass and top volume compared with larger JBL speakers. The box has a USB-C cable but no power adapter; JBL quotes a 3 hour charge from a 5V 1A USB supply.
