The JBL Flip 6 is a portable Bluetooth speaker with a two-way driver layout: a 45 x 80 mm racetrack-shaped woofer runs at 20W RMS and a separate 16 mm tweeter at 10W RMS, with two passive radiators for bass. The Squad finish is green, black and sand camouflage. It connects over Bluetooth 5.1, can stay connected to two phones or tablets, and the JBL Portable app adds a 3-band EQ and software updates.
It is rated IP67: dust tight and safe in 1 m of water for up to 30 minutes. It plays for up to 12 hours on a charge and refills in about 2.5 hours from a 5V/3A USB-C charger. If the port senses water or salt while charging, the speaker plays a warning tone. PartyBoost links two Flip 6 speakers as a stereo pair or several PartyBoost speakers together.
There is no microphone, so it cannot take calls or reach a voice assistant, and there is no AUX input. A single Flip 6 plays in mono. PartyBoost does not work with the newer Auracast models such as the Flip 7 or Charge 6, and playtime drops well below 12 hours at high volume.
