JBL Clip 5 Portable Bluetooth Speaker - Purple

The JBL Clip 5 is a portable Bluetooth speaker that pairs a 45 mm driver with a passive radiator for 7W of output and a 95 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response. The carabiner is now fully integrated into the body and has a wider opening, so it hooks onto a backpack strap, a belt loop or a tent pole.

The IP67 rating means it is sealed against dust and can stay in water up to 1 m deep for 30 minutes. The battery lasts up to 12 hours, and Playtime Boost adds up to 3 more. Bluetooth 5.3 with LE Audio keeps two devices connected at once, and Auracast pairs two Clip 5 speakers in stereo or links several Auracast-enabled JBL speakers. The JBL Portable app adds EQ presets, a custom equalizer and software updates.

There is no microphone, so the Clip 5 cannot take calls or talk to a voice assistant, and there is no AUX input for wired sources. The box has a USB-C cable but no power adapter; JBL quotes a 3 hour charge from a 5V 1A USB supply. Playing time drops at high volume, and a wet USB-C port must dry fully before charging.

Charge the speaker with the supplied USB-C cable, then press the Power button on the side. Press the Bluetooth button next to it and pick JBL Clip 5 in your phone's Bluetooth list. On the front, press the play button once to play or pause, twice to skip forward and three times to go back. To add a second Clip 5 or other Auracast-enabled JBL speakers, press the Auracast button on each one. Install the JBL Portable app for EQ settings and software updates.

JBL Clip 5 speaker, a USB Type-C charging cable, a quick start guide and a warranty card with safety sheet. A power adapter is not included; JBL quotes its 3 hour charge time for a 5V 1A USB supply.
