JBL Boombox 4 Portable Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker - Blue

The JBL Boombox 4 portable Bluetooth speaker pairs two 5-inch woofers and two 0.75-inch tweeters with three passive radiators. On mains power it puts out 2 x 65W through the woofers and 2 x 40W through the tweeters, and AI Sound Boost adjusts the output in real time to cut distortion at high volume. A Bass Boost button switches between Deep Bass and Punchy Bass modes.

It is rated IP68 against water and dust, and the 99Wh battery gives up to 28 hours, or up to 34 hours with Playtime Boost; a full charge takes about 3 hours. Bluetooth 5.4 with Auracast lets you stereo pair two Boombox 4 speakers or link other Auracast JBL speakers, the JBL Portable app adds an EQ, and the USB-C port plays lossless audio from a laptop and can charge a phone.

At 5.89 kg and 51 cm wide it is a big speaker to carry, and it charges only from the included AC power cord, not over USB-C. There is no 3.5 mm aux input, and Playtime Boost trades some sound quality for the extra hours. The battery can be replaced, but the spare is sold separately.

Charge the Boombox 4 with the included AC power cord before first use; a full charge takes about 3 hours. Switch it on and pair your phone over Bluetooth from the phone's Bluetooth menu. Download the JBL Portable app for the EQ and software updates, and use the Auracast button to link a second Boombox 4 or other Auracast JBL speakers. Press the Bass Boost button to switch between Deep Bass and Punchy Bass.
