The JBL Bar 800MK2 soundbar is a 7.1 channel system with 780W of maximum power. The 854 mm bar holds six 44 x 80 mm racetrack drivers and two 1-inch tweeters, and a 10-inch wireless subwoofer handles the bass. Its two end pieces lift off and work as wireless surround speakers behind your seat, then dock back on the bar to charge, with up to 10 hours of playtime.

Dolby Atmos and DTS Virtual:X add height and width to films, while MultiBeam 3.0 and PureVoice 2.0 spread the sound and keep dialogue clear. The bar calibrates itself to your room. One HDMI eARC cable connects it to the TV, and the HDMI input passes 4K Dolby Vision and HDR10+ video from a console. Over Wi-Fi it plays from AirPlay, Google Cast, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect and Roon Ready.

The height effect is virtual, as the bar has no up-firing drivers. There is no built-in voice assistant, though it works with a separate Google Assistant or Siri speaker. On the India model the USB port is for service only, and there is no 3.5 mm input. With the surrounds attached the bar is 1,163 mm wide, so check your TV unit.

Place the soundbar below your TV, or wall-mount it with the included L-shaped brackets, and put the subwoofer on the floor. The surround speakers can stay on the bar or go behind your seat; U-shaped brackets for wall-mounting them are also in the box. Plug in the bar and the subwoofer, connect the bar to your TV's HDMI eARC port with the included HDMI cable, then set it up on Wi-Fi with the JBL ONE app, which also runs the room calibration. Dock the surround speakers on the bar to charge them.

Harman India gives JBL products bought from an authorised Harman dealer in India a one-year limited warranty from the date on the invoice. Defective parts are repaired or replaced free of charge at an authorised Harman service centre; Harman does not give refunds on warranty claims. Log a request with JBL India customer support first, and keep the original invoice, as every claim needs it. Physical or accidental damage, batteries and buttons that wear with use, accessories such as charging cables and power adapters, and repairs by anyone other than an authorised service centre are not covered.
