JBL Bar 2.1 Essential 440W Dolby Digital Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer - Black

The JBL Bar 2.1 Essential soundbar pairs a slim 965 mm bar with a separate 6.5-inch wireless subwoofer, for 440W of total system power. Inside the bar are two 48 x 90 mm racetrack drivers and two 1.5-inch tweeters rated at 2 x 50W, while the down-firing subwoofer adds 120W for deeper bass.

Dolby Digital decoding and JBL Surround Sound widen the sound from a single bar, with no rear speakers or extra wiring. One HDMI cable to your TV's ARC port carries the TV sound, and the optical and 3.5 mm AUX inputs cover older TVs and other sources. Bluetooth streams music from a phone or tablet, and the subwoofer links to the bar without a cable, so it only needs a nearby power socket.

This is a simple 2.1 system. The HDMI port is ARC (HDMI 1.4), not eARC, and there is no HDMI input for passthrough. JBL lists Dolby Digital only, so there is no Dolby Atmos or DTS decoding. There is no Wi-Fi, app or voice assistant, and the USB port is for service only. Check that the 965 mm bar fits your TV stand, or use the wall-mount brackets in the box.

Place the soundbar below your TV, or fix it to the wall with the included brackets and template, and put the subwoofer on the floor nearby. Plug the bar and the subwoofer into mains power with the two supplied power cords. Connect the bar to your TV's HDMI ARC port with the included HDMI cable, or use an optical cable (not included) if your TV has no ARC port. The subwoofer connects to the bar wirelessly; if it does not, follow the pairing steps in the quick start guide. To stream music, choose Bluetooth on the bar or the remote and pair your phone.

Defective parts are repaired or replaced free of charge at an authorised Harman service centre; Harman does not give refunds on warranty claims. Log a request with JBL India customer support first, and keep the original invoice, as every claim needs it. Physical or accidental damage, batteries and buttons that wear with use, accessories such as charging cables and power adapters, and repairs by anyone other than an authorised service centre are not covered.
