L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme Sport, launched in 2012 and created by perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, is a sportier interpretation of the original L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme from 1994.
It opens with grapefruit and bergamot, zesty and energising, giving the first spray a crisp, clean feel. The heart adds warmth with nutmeg and a touch of leather, a slightly rugged twist on the fresh opening.
The base is woody and dry, built on vetiver, Virginia cedar and ambergris, which leaves a smooth, masculine trail.
It comes in the rectangular L'Eau d'Issey bottle, here with a dark grey textured cap and a blue accent.
Fresh and easy to wear, it suits spring and summer and works best in the daytime.
Spray onto pulse points such as the neck, wrists and chest from about 15 cm away. Let it dry naturally without rubbing.
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep the cap on when not in use to protect the fragrance.
