L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme, launched in 1994 and created by perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, pairs the freshness of water with the warmth of woods and spice. Issey Miyake describes it as the pure strength of water with citrusy freshness.
It opens with sparkling yuzu, joined by lemon and tangerine for a bright, clean start. At the heart, a water lily note gives it an aquatic, airy feel, gently warmed by nutmeg and other spices.
The base brings a clear masculine presence with sandalwood, vetiver and an amber accord, adding warmth and depth to the fresh opening.
It comes in the brand's monolithic rectangular glass bottle, widened at the base and topped with a light grey metal cap.
Fresh but with real substance, it suits spring and summer and works well for daytime and the office.
Spray onto pulse points such as the neck, wrists and chest from about 15 cm away. Let it dry naturally without rubbing.
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep the cap on when not in use to protect the fragrance.
