HUGO Man comes from the HUGO line that Hugo Boss started with its first Hugo fragrance in 1995. In January 2021 it returned in a new form, produced under licence by Coty, with a green, outdoorsy composition and a reworked take on the flask bottle the line is known for.
The opening is all green apple: crisp, slightly tart and clean, the kind of brightness that wakes you up rather than sweetens the air.
Lavender sits at the heart and gives the scent its aromatic, herbal character. Underneath, fir balsam brings a smoky, earthy warmth, joined by pine and dry woody notes. The result feels like open air with a city edge, fresh at first and more resinous as it settles.
The bottle is a pale blue glass flask with a metal screw cap and a green cord loop, with HUGO printed across the front in oversized red letters. It comes in a matte carton made from 98% recycled paper and is sold without a cellophane wrap.

Spray from about 15 cm onto pulse points such as the neck, wrists and inner elbows. Apply to clean, moisturised skin and let it dry without rubbing, which can dull the top notes.
