The HMD Touch 4G in Cyan sits between a feature phone and a smartphone. HMD calls it a hybrid phone: you swipe and tap on a 3.2-inch QVGA touchscreen and type on an on-screen keypad, while the body stays pocket sized at 100 g and 10.85 mm thick, with IP52 protection against dust and dripping water.
Both Nano-SIM slots work on 4G, and Wi-Fi, a Wi-Fi hotspot and Bluetooth 5.0 are built in. Cloud Phone Service gives shortcuts for news, cricket results, weather, videos and games, and the Express Chat app sends texts, photos and voice messages and makes video calls with other Express Chat users through the 0.3MP front camera. A 2MP rear camera with LED flash takes photos and videos, the FM radio works with or without earphones, and parental controls can lock the browser, camera and Cloud Phone.
It runs RTOS Touch, not Android, so there is no app store; Express Chat only reaches people who use Express Chat. Storage is 128MB, so a microSD card of up to 32GB (sold separately) helps for photos and music, and the 1950mAh battery is rated by HMD for up to 30 hours.
Push a SIM tray pin into the hole on the tray and slide the tray out. Put a Nano-SIM in the SIM slot with the contact area face down and, for a second number, another in the SIM2 slot; add a microSD card if you have one, then slide the tray back in. Charge the phone with the charger and USB Type-C cable from the box, press and hold the power key, choose your language and follow the steps on the screen. Swipe up on the home screen to open the menu.
