The HMD 101 keypad phone in Grey is a small, light feature phone for calls, text messages and music. It weighs 73 g, has a 1.77-inch colour screen above a large keypad, and runs on a removable 1000mAh battery that charges over Micro USB.
It takes two standard Mini-SIM cards and keeps both on standby. The MP3 player plays music from a microSD card of up to 32GB, and the FM radio works with or without wired earphones plugged in. Text-to-Speech, a torch, an alarm clock, a calendar, a calculator and the classic Snake game are built in. HMD rates the battery for up to 213 hours on standby and up to 7 hours of talk time.
This is a 2G phone for GSM 900 and 1800 MHz networks, so 4G-only SIM cards will not work in it. It is a different model from the HMD 101 4G. HMD's specifications list no camera, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, and storage is 4MB, so music needs a microSD card (sold separately). HMD gives no water or dust rating for this model.
Put your fingernail in the small slot at the bottom of the phone, lift off the back cover and take out the battery if it is in. Slide a standard-size SIM into the SIM slot with the contacts facing down and, for a second number, another into the SIM2 slot. Slide in a microSD card if you have one, then put the battery and cover back. Charge the phone with the Micro USB charger from the box and switch it on with the power/end key. To turn the torch on or off, press the scroll key up twice on the home screen.
HMD 101 phone, Micro USB charger, removable battery and safety booklet.
