Dyson Purifier Cool Formaldehyde TP09 Air Purifier Fan - White/Gold

The Dyson Purifier Cool Formaldehyde TP09 in White/Gold is a bladeless tower air purifier and fan. A solid-state sensor detects formaldehyde, a gas that furniture, flooring and paint can release for years, and Dyson's catalytic filter breaks it down into water and CO2. That catalytic filter never needs replacing.

A HEPA H13 filter with an activated carbon layer captures 99.95% of particles as small as 0.1 microns, along with odours and gases such as VOCs and NO2, and the whole machine is sealed to HEPA H13 standard. Air Multiplier technology moves over 290 litres of air per second, and the tower oscillates up to 350 degrees. The LCD shows PM2.5, PM10, VOC, NO2 and formaldehyde levels with a 24-hour graph.

In summer it works as a cooling fan. Diffused mode sends air out of the back so it purifies without blowing on you, and Night mode uses the quietest settings with a dimmed display. It stands 1050 mm tall and weighs 4.85 kg. Dyson quotes 61.4 dBA at maximum speed, and the HEPA and carbon filter needs replacing about once a year.

Stand the purifier on a flat surface near a socket and check that the HEPA and carbon filter is fitted. Switch on with the remote and choose Auto mode, or set the airflow speed and oscillation. Download the MyDyson app and follow the steps to connect it to your Wi-Fi. The remote is magnetised and stores on top of the machine.
