Dyson HushJet Compact HJ10 Air Purifier - Black/Teal

The Dyson HushJet Compact HJ10 air purifier in Black/Teal is the most powerful small-format purifier Dyson makes. A star-shaped HushJet nozzle pushes a concentrated jet of purified air upward, and Dyson rates it for rooms up to 1076 sq ft on the maximum setting. Reliance Digital lists a clean air delivery rate of 250 m3/h, and in Sleep mode it runs at 24dB.

Air passes through a 360-degree electrostatic filter that captures 99.97% of particles as small as 0.3 microns, then an activated carbon filter that takes out cooking and pet odours and gases such as NO2. Dyson seals the whole machine, not just the filter. Auto mode reads the air every second and sets the fan speed, and the LCD shows air quality and filter life. The MyDyson app adds schedules and reports, and Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri work too.

At 470 mm tall, 230 mm wide and 3.15 kg, it fits beside furniture or in a corner. It only purifies: there is no cooling fan or heater mode, and no remote in the box, so you use the buttons or the app. The five-year filter life assumes 12 hours of use a day.

Unpack the purifier and fit the electrostatic and carbon filters as Dyson's instructions show. Place it on a flat surface near a socket; it can stand next to furniture or in a corner. Switch on and choose Auto mode, or pick a speed from 1 to 10. Download the MyDyson app and follow the steps to connect it to your home Wi-Fi.
