The DJI Osmo Action 6 Standard Combo pairs DJI's first variable-aperture action camera with a battery, a mount and a cable. A 1/1.1-inch square CMOS sensor sits behind a 155-degree lens that moves between f/2.0 and f/4.0, so it opens up in low light or closes down for a starburst effect on street lights. It records 4K at up to 120fps, 8K at up to 30fps and up to 13.5 stops of dynamic range.
The camera weighs 149 g and goes to 20 m underwater without a case. A 2.5-inch rear screen and a 1.46-inch front screen, both OLED touchscreens, make selfie framing easy. RockSteady 3.0 and 360-degree HorizonSteady keep footage level, 4K Custom mode records a square frame you can crop later, and 50GB of built-in storage works before you add a microSD card.
DJI rates the 1950mAh battery at up to 240 minutes at 1080p with the screens off, so 4K use runs shorter. Fast charging to 80% in 22 minutes needs a 30W USB-C PD charger, which is not in the box. The Standard Combo has one battery and one mount; extra batteries, the Waterproof Case for 60 m dives and the Macro Lens are sold separately.
Insert the battery and charge the camera with the USB-C cable in the box. Press and hold the Quick Switch button to turn it on, install the DJI Mimo app and follow its steps to connect and activate the camera. Fit the quick-release adapter mount to the camera, stick the curved adhesive base to a helmet or board, and secure it with the locking screw.
