Cool Elixir, launched by Davidoff in 2025, takes the house somewhere new. Where Cool Water is fresh and aquatic, this one is darker and more textured. Davidoff calls it an aromatic oud, and the carton reads Oud Aromatique, Parfum Intense.
The composition is deliberately short, with one ingredient at each stage. Rose oxide opens with a cool, slightly metallic floral brightness rather than a sweet rose. Lavandin absolute follows in the heart, herbal and smooth, which keeps a link to the aromatic character of the original Cool Water. The base is an oud accord, smoky and resinous, and it is the note that stays longest on skin.
The perfumers listed for it are Anne Flipo, Jean-Christophe Hérault and Nelly Hachem-Ruiz of IFF. The bottle is a faceted, deep blue glass block with a heavy knurled gold cap, packed in a navy carton with a gold label.
Community ratings put its longevity and projection above average for a designer scent, and a couple of sprays usually carry well through an evening. It suits cooler months and nights out best. Wearers who already like lavender fougères and want something with more weight will find it an easy step.
Spray onto pulse points such as the neck, chest and wrists from about 15 cm away. Let it dry without rubbing. Given the Parfum Intense concentration, one or two sprays are usually enough.
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep the cap on when not in use to protect the fragrance.
