The Bose SoundLink Plus is a portable Bluetooth speaker sized to fit in a backpack. One subwoofer, one tweeter and four passive radiators play in mono, with an adjustable EQ in the Bose app. The powder-coated steel grille and silicone body are rated IP67, so it copes with dust, rain and a drop into water up to 1 m deep for 30 minutes, and it floats. A nylon rope loop makes it easy to carry.
Bluetooth 5.4 reaches about 9 m and keeps two devices connected at once, with AAC and aptX Adaptive on Snapdragon Sound phones. The battery lasts up to 20 hours, and the USB-C port can charge your phone at up to 15W. The Shortcut button links a second Plus in Stereo Mode, or a SoundLink Micro (2nd Gen), Flex (2nd Gen) or Max in Party Mode.
There is no microphone, so it cannot take calls, and there is no AUX input. At maximum volume the battery lasts up to 4 hours, and a full recharge takes up to 5 hours from a 15W USB-C charger, which is not in the box. Some owners find the bass strong at first; the app's EQ turns it down.
