The Bose SoundLink Micro (2nd Gen) is a portable Bluetooth speaker small enough to hold in one hand. Inside, one driver and two passive radiators play in mono, and the Bose app adjusts the bass, mid-range and treble. The silicone body and powder-coated steel grille are rated IP67, so it copes with dust, rain and a drop into water up to 1 m deep for 30 minutes.
Bluetooth 5.4 reaches about 9 m and keeps two devices connected at once. It supports SBC and AAC, and phones with Snapdragon Sound stream over aptX Adaptive. The battery lasts up to 12 hours at half volume, double the first SoundLink Micro, and charges over USB-C. The Shortcut button links a second Micro (2nd Gen) in Stereo Mode, or a SoundLink Flex (2nd Gen), Plus or Max in Party Mode.
There is no microphone, so it cannot take calls, and there is no AUX input. At maximum volume the battery lasts about 3 hours. It does not float, and the box has a USB-C to USB-A cable but no power adapter. Owners like the bass for its size, though some say the bass eases off at high volume.
