The Bose SoundLink Home is a Bluetooth speaker made to sit on a shelf, desk or kitchen counter and move from room to room when needed. Inside the fabric grille, one full-range transducer works with two passive radiators to give more bass than its 21.6 cm width suggests. The anodised aluminium frame forms the built-in stand, and the Warm Wood finish pairs a warm brown grille with a darker metal frame.
Bluetooth 5.3 reaches about 9 m and keeps two phones or tablets connected at once, streaming over SBC or AAC. The USB-C port charges the speaker and also plays audio from a laptop. The Multi-function button answers calls through the built-in microphone and, held down, opens your phone's voice assistant. Two SoundLink Home speakers link as a left and right Stereo pair.
It is a mono speaker with no Wi-Fi, no app, no EQ and no water resistance, so keep it dry. The battery drops to about 2.5 hours at full volume. It links only with another SoundLink Home, not other Bose speakers.
Before first use, connect the speaker to a USB power source with the supplied cable, which activates the battery. Press the Power button, then press and hold the Bluetooth button until you hear "Ready to connect" and choose Bose SoundLink Home in your phone's Bluetooth list. There is no app to install. Stand the speaker on its rubber base, at least 6 mm from the wall.
