The Bose Smart Ultra Soundbar is a Dolby Atmos smart soundbar and the top model in Bose's range, replacing the Smart Soundbar 900. Nine speakers, two of them firing upward, spread sound around and above you, and Bose TrueSpace upmixes stereo and 5.1 content that isn't in Atmos. A.I. Dialogue Mode balances voices against effects so speech stays clear, and ADAPTiQ tunes the sound to your room with the headset in the box.
It connects to your TV through HDMI eARC or ARC, which Atmos needs, or with the included optical cable. On Wi-Fi it streams through Spotify Connect, AirPlay 2 and Chromecast built-in, and Bluetooth 5.0 plays from any phone. Alexa is built in, and the Bose app handles setup, bass and treble, and multi-room groups. A Bose Bass Module 500 or 700 and Bose surround speakers can be added later, all wireless.
There is no HDMI input or 4K passthrough, so other devices plug into the TV. Google Assistant isn't offered on Bose soundbars in India. Owners praise the clarity and width of the sound, and many add a bass module for deeper bass. The wall bracket is sold separately.
Place the soundbar below and in front of the TV, with the top speakers clear. Connect the HDMI cable to your TV's HDMI eARC or ARC port, or use the optical cable if your TV has neither, then plug in the power cord. Install the Bose app (formerly Bose Music), add the soundbar to your Wi-Fi and run ADAPTiQ with the headset. In the app, choose Amazon Alexa as the voice assistant and sign in to your Amazon account.
