The Bose S1 Pro+ is a portable PA system and Bluetooth speaker in one 6.5 kg cabinet, made for small gigs, talks, classes and parties. Three 57 mm tweeters and a 6 inch woofer spread sound 120 degrees wide, with a calculated maximum of 109 dB at 1 m. Auto EQ senses whether it stands upright, tilts back, sits on a 35 mm stand or lies on its side as a monitor, and adjusts the sound to suit.
Channels 1 and 2 take a mic or instrument through XLR or 6.35 mm combo jacks, each with volume, treble, bass, reverb and ToneMatch presets. Channel 3 mixes Bluetooth 5.0 with 6.35 mm and 3.5 mm line inputs. Bose wireless mic and instrument transmitters, sold separately, dock and charge in two slots on the panel. You also get an XLR line out, USB-C for streaming to a computer and control from the Bose Music app.
The battery lasts up to 11 hours and swaps out from the base. Owners praise the clarity and the weight, though some find the bass strains near full volume and the battery drains faster when pushed hard. It is not water resistant.
