The Bose Bass Module 500 is a wireless subwoofer that adds low-end weight to a Bose soundbar. It is a 10 inch cube weighing about 5.2 kg, with one driver and a QuietPort bass port at the base of the back panel. Bose suggests keeping it on the floor along the same wall as the TV, and moving it closer to a corner for more bass.
It links wirelessly to the Smart Ultra Soundbar, Smart Soundbar 900, 700, 600 or 300, Soundbar 500 and the older SoundTouch 300 (set up in the Bose app, or with the SoundTouch 300's remote). The Bose TV Speaker needs a 3.5 mm audio cable, sold separately. A status light and a single button on the back handle reconnection and reset, while the bass level is set from the soundbar.
This is not a standalone speaker. It has no Bluetooth, can't pair with a phone or TV, and won't work with other brands, Bose one-piece speakers or the Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar. Buyers mostly praise the extra depth for films. A few expected more output for the price, and it can need the bass tuned in the app to sound its best.
