The boAt Stone Nyx is a portable Bluetooth speaker with a rounded, cylindrical body and an RGB light ring around the volume panel on the front. It puts out 16W (8W x 2) across 90 Hz to 16 kHz, and at 110 x 110 x 206 mm it can stand upright on a shelf or lie on its side.
Bluetooth 5.4 connects it to phones and laptops from up to 10 metres away and reconnects to the last paired device. A USB port and a microSD slot on the back play MP3 files without a phone. Pair a second Stone Nyx over TWS for stereo sound. The built-in mic takes hands-free calls, and a double press of the play button calls up Siri or Google Assistant. The light ring has 4 effects and can be switched off.
boAt rates the 2000 mAh battery for up to 8 hours, and up to 12 hours at 60% volume with the lights off. A full charge over USB Type-C takes up to 2.5 hours; the cable is in the box but the adapter is not. IPX4 covers splashes and sweat, so it should not go in water, and there is no AUX input.
