The boAt Stone Beam is a 12W portable Bluetooth speaker shaped like a small boombox, with a carry handle on top and a panel of RGB lights across the front. Two 2 inch drivers play in stereo, and Bluetooth 5.1 connects it to Android phones, iPhones and laptops from up to 10 metres away.
Bluetooth is not the only way in. An AUX input takes a TV, PC or music player, a USB slot plays songs from a flash drive, and there is a built-in FM radio. Pair a second Stone Beam over TWS for louder sound. The lights have three modes and their own off button, and the built-in mic handles calls and brings up your phone's voice assistant.
The 2000 mAh battery lasts up to 7 hours at half volume but only about 3 hours at full volume, and recharges over USB Type-C in around 3 hours. No adapter comes in the box, so use a phone charger. IPX4 covers splashes, not rain or a dunk. Owners like the lights and the volume for the price, while a few find the bass modest, so it suits a room or a small get-together best.
