The boAt Stone 580 is a portable Bluetooth speaker in Midnight Black, built as a 255 mm wide box with a carry strap on top. Two 2 inch drivers give 12W of stereo output, and the RGB panel across the front has three light modes plus off, all on one button.
It pairs over Bluetooth 5.1 with a range of about 10 metres, and two Stone 580 speakers can be linked in TWS mode. Without a phone, it plays music from a USB flash drive, takes a wired AUX source (a cable is in the box) or tunes FM radio stations. A built-in mic handles hands-free calls, and one button calls up your phone's voice assistant.
boAt's manual rates the 2000 mAh battery at about 7 hours at half volume and 3 hours at full volume, and it charges over USB Type-C in about 3 hours. It is rated IPX4 for splashes only. There is no microSD card slot, and some buyers say it sounds quieter and lasts less than they expected, with distortion near full volume.
Charge the speaker before first use with the Type-C cable from the box and a 5V phone charger; boAt does not include an adapter. Hold the power button to switch it on, then turn on Bluetooth on your phone and pick "Stone 580" from the list. For FM radio, leave the charging cable plugged in, because it works as the antenna.
