The boAt Stone 208 is a small portable Bluetooth speaker with a round body, an attached carry strap and an RGB light ring around the boAt logo on top. A 52 mm driver puts out 5W across 100 Hz to 18 kHz, and at about 88 x 89 x 97 mm it fits in a bag.
Bluetooth 5.3 connects it to phones and laptops from up to 10 metres away, and the microSD slot plays MP3 files without a phone. Pair a second Stone 208 over TWS to play the same music on both. The built-in mic takes hands-free calls, and a double press of the middle button calls up Google Assistant or Siri. The light ring has 6 effects and can be switched off.
The 1200 mAh battery lasts up to 8 hours at 60% volume and recharges in 1.5 to 2 hours over USB Type-C. There is a cable in the box but no adapter. IPX5 covers splashes and sweat, not a dip in water, and there is no AUX input or FM radio. Early buyers like the design and lights but find the volume and bass modest outdoors, so it suits a room, desk or bedside best.
